About Japan Finds Journal
Everyday finds in Japan, with personal impressions kept separate from product research.
The person behind the food notes
I’m a 22-year-old university student who has lived in Japan all my life. Convenience stores have been familiar places since childhood. Hearing that international visitors were interested in them encouraged me to write about what I enjoy.
I follow new products and talk with friends about their favorites. My own tasting notes are subjective, and 7-Eleven is my personal favorite overall for food taste and quality. That preference does not determine what another reader will enjoy.
What our articles are based on
- Convenience-store food: product research alongside tasting impressions supplied by the author.
- Breakfast: suggested combinations based on the food guide, not a claim that the combinations were tested together as packaged sets.
- Skincare and stationery: researched comparisons using official information and identifiable retailer listings. We do not currently claim hands-on tests of all the products.
How we choose and describe products
We distinguish official product facts, scoped sales or popularity evidence, and personal opinions. A brand-level sales claim is not treated as proof that one bottle ranks first. Product versions, packaging and local availability can change; the source-check date and any version limitations appear in the relevant guide.
Manufacturer images are credited beside the image. They illustrate the product, while the retailer’s current title and bundle details determine what is offered for sale.
Affiliate links and independence
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links marked “paid link” can earn a commission. Our shopping guides include Amazon.com links and explain exact versions and selection limitations. A purchase link does not establish that an item is best for everyone or that a particular seller is authenticated by us.
